Khandbari: The campus building of Himalaya Kiran Public Campus, Khandbari Municipality, Sankhuwasabha has been inaugurated. The building was constructed with Government of India’s financial assistance. Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud and Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava jointly inaugurated the campus building. The political leaders from Sankhuwasabha, social workers, officials of Nepal Government, representatives of the Campus and local communities were also present on this occasion.
The project was implemented under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’, as a High Impact Community Development Project under an agreement between Government of India and Government of Nepal, at the cost of Rs37.40 million. The scope of work included construction of a triple storied campus building with class rooms, science lab, computer, library rooms, meeting hall etc. District Coordination Committee, Sankhuwasabha was the implementing agency for the project.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Saud said that it was a matter of pride and Nepal was fortunate to have neighbour like India who have contributed to development of Nepal and its people. He added that this developmental project was particularly important as it would ensure education for generations of Nepali students and help them in their future careers. FM Saud further said that he looked forward to continued support from India in Nepal’s development.
