KATHMANDU: The Director General of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, NORAD, Bard Vegar Solhjell visited Kathmandu University on Monday. Solhjell was accompanied by the Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Torun Dramdal and other Norwegian dignitaries.
The delegates visited the Inge Johanesen Block, an eponymous building named after a Norwegian professor, and the Turbine Testing Lab at Kathmandu University. After the short tour of Dhulikhel, the delegates observed the School of Management, Kathmandu University (KUSoM)) located at Balkumari, Kathmandu. The delegates were welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa.
At an interaction with the delegation at KUSOM, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr.Thapa, shed light on the importance of such collaboration. The Director General, Solhjell extended his remarks appreciating the activities being carried out by Kathmandu University.
H.E. Torun Dramdal highlighted the positive impact made by the collaboration between Norway and Nepal jointly in higher education, mostly in the research. On the occasion, the registrar of KU Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle, Kathmandu University, delivered his opening remarks. Associate Prof. Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa gave a presentation highlighting the collaboration between KU and Norway.
