KATHMANDU: Gaun Beshi Network Pvt Ltd, promotor of nepalpurbadhar.com and nepalinfrastructure.com news portals, published ‘Purbadhaar Samriddhi’ magazine covering in-depth articles on a wide range of issues in the infrastructure sector. The magazine includes altogether 59 articles contributed by various personalities including policymakers, ex-bureaucrats, journalists, among other dignitaries.
The 200-page magazine was released amid a function on Thursday in Kathmandu to mark the first anniversary of both news portals. Chief Secretary Dr. Baikunth Aryal, Secretary at Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Uday Sapkota, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Keshav Kumar Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board Sushil Bhatt and Editor of Nepal Infrastructure.com Bhim Gautam jointly released the magazine.
Addressing the program, Chief Secretary Aryal as the chief guest, appreciated the efforts of the editorial team of the magazine for coming up with a comprehensive magazine focusing on the infrastructure sector.
“I am impressed by the courage shown by the magazine team who brought out it within one year of the commencement of the operation of both news portals. I want to express my best wishes for the continuity of the magazine with more appealing content,” said Aryal.
Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Sapkota said that the magazine, which was published to cover all areas of infrastructure, was also an important document for all stakeholders. Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport Sharma said that this magazine is an important document to tell the pertinent issues of the infrastructure sector.
Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board, Bhatt, said that despite the pressure of resources, infrastructure development was challenging suggesting that emphasis be placed on infrastructure laws to pave the way for a seamless process of project delivery.
Prabhakar Ghimire, one of the contributors to the magazine and the Project Communication Expert stated that the magazine should have covered both problems and way forwards rather than focusing on only problems in the infrastructure sector. “Magazine should cover best practice case studies and specialized sector in coming issues of the magazine so that readership could be increased,” said Ghimire.
Gautam, the editor of Nepal Infrastructure.com, who chaired the function said that the magazine would be modified further in the future incorporating the suggestions and feedback from readers. Shankar Basyal, director of Gaun Beshi Network, said that based on the suggestions, the shortcomings of the magazine will be improved in the coming days.
