Kathmandu: A Furniture and Furnishing Expo 2023 has started from today at Bhrikutimandap exhibition hall. The 9th edition of the expo is organized by Nepal Furniture and Furnishing Association. The exhibition has been organized with the aim of promoting Nepal’s furniture and furnishing market and bringing locally produced goods and services under one roof, said the organisers.
More than one hundred stalls of furniture and furnishing material sellers, manufacturers, importers, distributors, machinery and technology transfer, dealers, etc. have been placed in the exhibition. Entry is free while the organizers expect more than 50,000 people to visit the expo. Special consulting services for architecture and interior design will also be available at the exhibition venue.
Inaugurating the expo, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply Ramesh Rijal said that the government has been prioritizing the policy of increasing domestic production, reducing imports and promoting exports. Emphasis should be placed on promoting the export of handicrafts that reflect our original art culture and based on local raw materials”, said Minister Rijal.
