Remote villages in Bhojpur illuminated

BHOJPUR: The power supply has reached to the remote villages of Khoksing and Baurang at Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality in Bhojpur district, benefitting around 300 households. The power supply, a long-awaited dream of folks, has made the local lives easier.

Dil Kumar Yogi, a local resident, said their life has become easier and the power has been used for grinding purpose too. He added that use of electric appliances has also increased after the power supply facility made possible with the help of the ward office.

Another local resident Rupman Shrestha shared that the villagers are now enjoying access to information along with comforts in their daily life. He stated that internet service and television and other means of communication are used by the local people to get national and international news.

Ward Chairman of Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality-8 Bach Kumar Rai said that their effort to electrify these remote villages was achieved after a long. ‘Our ward is very remote geographically. The local people have suffered severely for lack of power supply. We have given top priority of electrification drive. The two villages are now linked to power supply after a long effort,’ he added.

He also said that the entire ward would be electrified by the coming year. We are preparing to purchase electric wires by allocating Rs 1.2 million, he said.
