Infrastructure development and tourist area protection is government priority: Minister Shrestha

KATHMANDU: The Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha said infrastructure development and protection of tourist areas are always the priority of the government. He made the remarks at a program organized to release a book authored by Suresh Kumar Dyahla and open a painting exhibition by Nepal Professional Artists Association at Nepal Art Council on Monday.

Stating that Nepali art culture is the main basis of tourism development, Shrestha said that the diverse beauty of the art sector will introduce Nepal to the international world. “The conservation and promotion of Nepali art and culture is a priority of the ministry,” he said. “I will always give importance to the conservation and infrastructure development of the tourism sector and advance it.”

He informed the program that the process of construction of heritage roads has progressed for the development and promotion of tourism in the valley. Shrestha emphasized the need to protect cultural festivals and heritages of the valley to promote tourism.

The writer of the book Dyahla shared his experience in the process of preparing the work ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram. In the work published by him, the glory of Shiva is depicted in the book through pictures based on the Puranas of Lord Shiva Shankar. Artist Madan Chitrakar was also honored in the program.
