Nepal International Trade Fair 2023 on March 16-20

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is organizing the ‘Nepal International Trade Fair 2023’ from March 16-20.  The annual fair could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic that brought business activities to a halt for almost a couple of years.

In a press conference organized by the FNCCI on Thursday, it was announced that stall booking has opened for those who want to participate in the two-day exhibition.

Nepali handicrafts and other items will also be exhibited at the fair. There will be a special exhibition of the products and services representing 123 member associations of the FNCCI, which is the apex body of Nepali businesses.

The fair is going to be organized as a calendar event with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, the Trade and Export Promotion Center with Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal as co-organizers.

The Nepal International Trade Fair 2023 is becoming a powerful means of promoting Nepali products in the international market. It is hoped that the exhibition of the Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS) products at the fair will help acquaint visitors with the possibilities of industrial and commercial development in Nepal.

A total of more than 300 stalls will be set up to showcase domestic and foreign goods and services. SAARC countries, including Nepal, China, Thailand, Myanmar, and other countries, will participate in the fair. It is expected that buyers from countries like China, Korea, Japan, etc. will come to the fair.

Handicraft products will be the main attraction of the fair that will also offer an opportunity for businesses to interact with each other.

At the fair, separate stalls will be set up for handicrafts, tourism, information and technology, business information, agricultural products, energy, building and construction, education, etc.

On the occasion of the fair, there will be meetings with business representatives from different countries and discussions on bilateral trade promotion and investment. It is planned to be visited by around 50,000 local and foreign visitors at this year’s fair.

The press conference was addressed by FNCCI President Shekhar Golcha, Senior Vice President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Vice Presidents Dinesh Shrestha, Anjan Shrestha, Ramchandra Shanghai, and Trade and Export Promotion Center’s Executive Director Sharad Bikram Rana.
