Gov needs Rs 5916 billion for the next three years

KATHMANDU: The National Planning Commission (NPC), the apex policy-making body of the government, has estimated a budgetary requirement of Rs 5916 billion for the next three years. The NPC has made it public through a report on the medium-term expenditure structure from the fiscal year 2079/08 to 2081/082.

A budget of Rs 1,793.83 billion was presented for the current fiscal year. Similarly, it is estimated that the budget will reach Rs 1931 billion in 2080/081 and Rs 2192 billion in 2081/082.

Similarly, the report has set a target to achieve 7.6 percent economic growth in 2080/081 and 8.8 percent in 2081/082. The report aims to reduce the poverty from 18.7 percent to 9 percent within the next three years.

The NPC has also made public the annual development program for the coming Fiscal Year 2079/080 along with the report on the medium-term expenditure structure.
